As dusk approached, ZOUK was awash in PINK on the 24th of July 2010 (Saturday), with partygoers from all walks of life pledging their support in the cause against cervical cancer.

The Oasis team was extremely stoked by the massive turnout, having poured in our heartfelt effort in the management of the entire event from scratch, from the securing of the sponsors, goodie bags, artistes, right down to the nitty gritty details of the event planning.

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole process, and if you have an event in mind and need some out-of-the-box ideas, feel free to contact Rachel at 97429085 or rachel@oasiscommunications.com.sg, and we’d be more than happy to help!

POCC Pink Party

All dolled up thanks to our kind sponsors Citigems, BYSI, Ladyfinger, Essensuals, Strip, and Muiik, our beautiful POCC ambassadors took to the stage to share their insights on the prevention of cervical cancer, and their own vaccination experiences.

Ms. Seles Rudge, having being diagnosed with cervical cancer just a few weeks before the event, also shared her personal experience on the recovery process, and how her loved ones around her helped her to stay strong. Her story prompted many of the ladies in the audience to firm up their decision to protect themselves.

Here’s a look at some of the responses our POCC campaign has brought about: here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.

Of course, besides the serious message at hand, our audience was treated to a series of pole dancing performances by Acro Polates and a thrilling magic show by JC Sum and Magic Babe Ning. You can read the coverage by City News here .

Don’t forget, protect yourself, and your loved ones too!

Last week, Team Oasis was busy coordinating the exclusive blogger-only launch of the range of PHYSIOGEL products. The event saw an attendance of 41 beauty and lifestyle bloggers in Singapore eager to learn more about the new moisturiser.

It was held at Grand Park Hotel and I don’t think we’ve seen more generous clients! PHYSIOGEL gave away an awesome goodie bag worth $140 of their products in retail sizes! Check out what the lucky bloggers received:

At the end of the day, clients always ask us, is it really effective? What’s the ROI? But I say, just like how you would rely on word of mouth referrals for your products and services, you also need to rely on these opinion leaders in the blogosphere to help spread your brand’s message. Only this time, through social media.

Instead of paying $20K for a one time print ad that will be printed in a single day and then chucked and forgotten the next, why not consider social media marketing for a moment? That’s a huge topic to cover so let’s zoom in to blogger engagement specifically. These mini blog entries by these bloggers will be online, read over and over again by others. These are not paid reviews, neither are they advertorials. These are true opinions of people who contribute actively online. Today’s smart consumer knows the difference.

In addition to the influence these bloggers have on their own group of friends, readers, fans and followers, having all these bloggers talk about your product is really what you want online. Not only for the word of mouth ripple effects, but also to opitmize your brand on Search Engine!

Yes. Brands mentions on blogs, forums, etc etc all translate to digital footprints for the brand. For PHYSIOGEL, imagine someone typing in “Physiogel is it any good?” in search engines and finding the reviews of all these independent bloggers talking about the brand.

Can any other form of marketing do that for your brand? Food for thought. :)

Here are some blog entries by bloggers who attended this event: here, here, here, here, here, here, here and many more.

Us folks at Oasis love our desserts and cakes, so you can imagine how mighty excited we were about the  launch of an entirely new foray into the market by our friends at The Patissier – Frozen mousse cakes you can DIY at home!

We are the guys behind both the website and the exclusive Bloggers’ preview event held on the 17th July, Saturday, at Hotel Re!.

Our blogger friends, such as LeRoy, Justin, Lionel & Kaiyi, Yuan & Fen, Chloe & Phoebe, Daniel, Maureen, Elaine , Clara, Priscilla, Fidelis, Esther, Nadia, Jacelyn, Cherry, and many more arrived in a flurry of excitement, whipped out their DSLRs and thinking caps (actually baker’s hats) and set about having some good ole’ DIY fun!

Tempted? The mousse cakes are available in 3 flavours: Strawberry Delight, Mango Madness and Chocolate Dream. Our favourite is the Chocolate, with its rich chocolatey melt-in-your-mouth goodness.  Our bloggers also fell in love with the light, tangy Strawberry Dream and juicy Mango Madness…

The most amazing part? They are snap freezed to -30 degrees Celsius within 15-20 min to lock in their freshness, and don’t lose their moisture even after being frozen for months! You have to try it for yourself to know what we’re talking about! ;)

The Brief
Everyone knows NETS in Singapore. Taking their first step towards social media, they would like to explore brand engagement and an effective promotion broadcast. The goal is to build a creditable base of fan base in Facebook within 14 days.

The Challenge

How does the lure of winning PS3 everyday sound to you for 14 days? It sounded perfect for 5,000 odd Singaporeans. We developed a customized Facebook Application to randomly generated 4 alphabets every day (i.e. N,E,T,S). The idea was to register (through Facebook) your personal particulars and you will randomly get an alphabet. Everyday, we will announce of the “letter of the day”. If it is your letter, you could be the lucky winner of a PS3 through a lucky draw pool. If it is not, you are still eligible the next day.

The Word of Mouth through personal wall updates generated a lot of viral traffic. 5,000 fans were generated in 14 days of the campaign. There were also lots of energy and vibes from the contestants through wall communications. Even though the key driver to the campaign was obviously the lure of an incentive (which opposes the algorithm of Social Media in the first place), we are happy that it stood out among many bigger campaigns that were running at the juncture. The battle is won but the war is not. Watch out for more tactical campaigns on the NETS Facebook page as we continue to carve it to be an effective feedback and communication channel for NETS.

An Audio Visual Experience on the homepageÂ
The Brief
Create an online space in support for Power Over Cervical Cancer, an initative to draw awareness of Cervical Cancer in Singapore. The POCC Campaign should create the online buzz and active engagement from all social media front over the whole of 2010. The drive should be organic due to limited budget constrain. The goal is to create 20,000 pledges from Singaporean Women on the website as a platform to drive more viral traffic through educating materials and the final message that Cervical Cancer is preventable through proper vaccination.

The Challenge
Cervical Cancer, HPV, pap smear test, death, cancer, etc… words that bring fear and would rather be avoided in our everyday topic. The website thus needed to crave its path to interest & educate the visitors at the same time. It also needed to create an emotional attachment for them to be willing to share with their women friends. Objectives that are rarely achieved perfectly.

From a communication point, we decided to approach the microsite as an opportunity to “talk & be convinced” rather than “read and be bored”. Motion info graphic production was created with perfect10 deejay, Rosalyn Lee to relate her personal close shave with cervical cancer on the homepage. The website also had very interactive risk assessment test that eventually led to a google map integrated application that led you to the nearest doctor for Cervical Cancer vaccination in Singapore.

From an engagement point of view, we dived deeper by not just engaging bloggers online but offline as well. A blogger’s engagement party in the house @ dempsey allowed us to mingle with the top bloggers freely. At the end of the fun night, we had bought into the “Digital Voices of Singapore”. Famous Celebrity bloggers  like MagicBabeNing, Karen Tan, Peggy Chan, Esther Xie and many others are all using their blogs as voices for us online. This will be flanked by many interesting micro awareness campaigns in Facebook, POCC Blog and the network of Nuffnang till the end of 2010.

From a technical point of view, the website is fully flash but fully search friendly optimised. With the intented inbound and outbound extension of pocc.sg, the microsite has jumped 3 pages in search ranking since day one of launch.

We had the pleasure to work with many top class agencies on this project who were supporting us on the other aspect of the campaigns. They were namely our sister creative agency, Oasis Communications, Geiser Maclang Marketing Communications, Rubix Cube Communications, Golin Harris & Flames Communications.
